Smart’s 2025 ski season lifts off

News 3 FEBRUARY 2025

The new year welcomes a new flurry of ski trips and Smart Aviation, the leaders in global aircraft and private jet charters, have been non-stop with charter bookings for avid skiers since the start of 2025.

It has not been the smoothest start to the season, with severe weather closing down airports in popular ski destinations a few weeks ago, but the Smart team have been working closely with key ski operator partners, handling considerable group requests and securing a run of private jet bookings too.

The team finalised a comprehensive schedule of group charter bookings for the whole season for a ski specialist operator in Scandinavia. The series of flights depart from Stockholm and Copenhagen to Grenoble and to handle the capacity, Smart chartered an A320. Smart is also continuing to work closely with a prestigious UK ski tour operator and has sold a significant allocation of seats on flights from London to both Chambéry and Geneva.

The VIP Charter Team has also been extremely busy with private requests to world-renowned ski resorts including Klosters Resort in the Swiss Alps, where the client flew into St. Gallen Airport in Switzerland, and Stubai Glacier Resort (Stubaier Gletscher) in Innsbruck, Austria.

James Gregory, Head of VIP Charter said: “There were challenges with some of the ski charters this January due to the extreme weather but as always, we minimised any disruption for our clients. Weather is something that, as an experienced team, we keep an eye on constantly. We are gearing up for a busy February half term and have lots of enquiries from families looking to head to the slopes. Slots for half term are only released two weeks before, so we will have these confirmed as soon as possible for our clients to ensure they get the departure time and date they require”.
