Smart Aviation, the leaders in global sports charters, is delighted to have flown the Slovak national team this past weekend to the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOF), the largest multi-sport event for young athletes in Europe. The event will run from 9th – 16th February 2025.
Smart’s sports charter team chartered a B737-800 NG aircraft from our trusted partners at Smartwings Slovakia. The aircraft flew 85 athletes and officials from the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee from Bratislava to Kutaisi International Airport in Slovakia to the host city, Bakuriani in Georgia. Proudly organised by the European Olympic Committees (EOC), the EYOF boasts a rich heritage spanning 35 years, and this is the first time Georgia will host the EYOF.
Approximately 1,600 attendees aged between 14-18, from 50 different European countries, will participate in the event, which is recognised as a gateway to the Olympic Games, with numerous EYOF medallists reaching the pinnacle in their sport in the following years. The event incorporates many Olympic traditions including official oaths and the burning flame.
Mark Hawkins, Managing Director of Smart Aviation, said: “We are extremely proud to have flown the Slovakian national team to this important sporting event. Thanks to our valued partners at Smartwings who operated a seamless flight, as always. We wish the Slovkian athletes all the best in the tournament”.
