Smart Tried And Tested Bombardier Challenger 350

In this month’s ‘Smart: Tried and Tested’ we’re taking a look at the Bombardier Challenger 350, which is recognised as being one of the most sought after super midsize jets to charter.

An updated version of the popular Bombardier Challenger 300, the Challenger 350 is renowned for offering an unrivalled combination of power, comfort and efficiency. Boasting the widest cabin in its class, the aircraft is also able to access more airports than any other long range competitor in its class.

The Challenger 350 took its first flight in March 2013 and received certification in 2014. Powered by two Honeywell HTF7350 turbofan engines the jet boasts an impressive maximum cruise speed of 541 mph/870 kmh.

The 350 is typically configured to carry up to eight passengers, or three in sleeping configuration, and can fly for seven hours or 3,682 miles/3,200 nautical miles, or London-Dubai, non-stop.

The overall length of the plane is 68 ft 8 inches (20.9m) and it is 20 ft (6m) high. The inside of the cabin is 6ft (1.83m) and the wingspan is 69 ft (21m). Its maximum operating altitude is 45,000 ft.

Highlights include state of the art entertainment systems with integrated widescreen monitors, an ultra-quiet, air-conditioned, and pressurised cabin, providing best-in-class cabin altitude for reduced fatigue, all leather spacious seats, LED cabin lightning, and a fully enclosed washroom with private toilet and vanity facilities.

One of the benefits of chartering the Challenger 350 is the 106ft³ external baggage compartment which holds up to 13 medium-sized bags, with additional storage for personal carry-ons.

James Gregory, Smart’s Head of VIP Charter, said:

“We are big fans of the Challenger 350 – it’s a popular option when we’re quoting clients for longer charter flights across Europe and the UAE. The spacious cabin and ample luggage space gives flexibility for varying group sizes and with a full galley to provide hot food, passengers can enjoy a premium cabin experience.”
